The Legendary Bob Marley

Out of all the posts I have put up so far, this post is my favorite one. Bob Marley is one of my favorite artist of all time, his words really heal the healing of a persons heart.

Bob Marley was born as Nesta Robert Marley, he was born and raised in Jamaica, Saint Ann Parish. He was born on February 6, 1945 and rested on May 11, 1981. Bob Marley was a Jamaican singer/songwriter and a musician. He died from a tumor that was found in his foot and for religious reason he did not want to amputated it. The cancer then started to spread and went straight to his head. He had the cancer in him for about two years.

Bob Marley faced questions about his own racial identity throughout his life. He once reflected:

"I don't have prejudice against meself. My father was a white and my mother was black. Them call me half-caste or whatever. Me don't dip on nobody's side. Me don't dip on the black man's side nor the white man's side. Me dip on God's side, the one who create me and cause me to come from black and white."- Bob Marley

Bob Marley has always defended this often maligned herb. He equated condemnation of this natural herb with blasphemy.

How could a plant created by God be made illegal by humans? "You mean they can tell God that it's not legal?" he once asked a Canadian journalist. If growing cannabis is to be a crime then by man's laws God who made all plants was a criminal too. Bob was not surprized that people who smoke the weed were persecuted by "Babylon", the ruling system, reminding people: "Them crucify Christ, remember?"- Bob Marley

His music will live on in our minds and heart forever. Jah Bless.
